First Aid at Work (FAW)

This course gives candidates the skills, knowledge and confidence to be able to safely deal with workplace accidents or episodes of ill-health.

This HSE standardised First Aid at Work qualification lasts for 3 years, and due to recent changes in legislation, candidates must attend a refresher course before the expiry of their current qualification.

There is no longer a 28 day transition period.

Assessments:

  • Ongoing assessment by the instructor of the candidate’s practical skills.
  • Successful completion of a 15 question, and a 25 question multiple choice paper.

Recomendations:

Should you work in a high-risk industrial environment we would recommend the First Person on Scene (FPOS) course.

If you need a concise option, we recommend the Emergency First Aid at Work (EFAW) course—it covers all essential emergency, primary, and critical components without overwhelming detail for people who are new to first aid.
