First Aid at Work Requalification (REQ)
This course is designed to give students with a previous First Aid at Work Qualification the opportunity to revalidate their qualification, without having to resit a full 3-day course. It updates delegate’s knowledge and informs of any changes or new policies and procedures regarding First Aid.
There is no longer a 28 day transition period for revalidating your certificate. Re-qualification must be carried out BEFORE expiry of your previous qualification.
This course covers aspects including:
- Introduction – The First Aider
- First aid in the workplace
- Responsibilities of the first aider
- Primary survey
- Secondary assessment
- Breathing and circulation
- Principles of resuscitation
- Disorders or respiration
- Disorders of consciousness
- Foreign objects
- Burns and scolds
- Bones, joints and muscle injuries
- Poisoning
- Incident training
Assessment
- Ongoing assessment by the instructor of candidates practical skills
- Successful completion of two multiple choice question papers.
